Spoiled!

As mentioned in my last post, my in-laws recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The whole family celebrated by spending 5 nights at Killarney Lodge, on the Lake of Two Rivers in Algonquin Park. It was a wonderful place for the adults to visit and the cousins to play. Our stay included a cottage for each family and three meals a day.  We spent about 4.5 hours each day being served and eating in the on-site restaurant. The service was top notch. They were all so friendly and accommodating to our large family that took up about 25% of the restaurant!  The food was excellent, with a selection of appetizer, entree and dessert at lunch and dinner.  Breakfast was the same each day, but with many yummy options each morning. I don’t know about your family, but most gatherings include food…but usually I am involved in planning, cooking and cleaning…so spoiled!

Walking the dog and getting a ride at Killarney Lodge!

The owner seemed to enjoy taking the kids for golf cart rides almost as much as the kids liked the rides! The beach was fun for the kids and canoes came with each cottage.  The Lodge provides unsalted peanuts for the squirrels and chipmunks. Killarney Lodge is conveniently located on the main highway through Algonquin Park, which gave us the opportunity to hike some of the trails and explore the Visitor’s Centre.  I highly recommend not only Killarney Lodge www.killarneylodge.com but, taking the time to get away with family, with your main goal being time spent together. Thanks to Nana and Poppa for spoiling us all!

Upon finding a large chunk of natural clay in the water at the beach, some of the kids decided to cover themselves in it. Apparently, clay makes my son feel quite empowered!
